The programme addresses a longstanding issue ranging from low-income levels from underdeveloped economic opportunities to poor education leading to a high incidence of sex trafficking in the area of girls and young women. This 3 to 4 year project will commence with a focus on economic and business projects in areas like Agriculture and Tourism, followed on by other project components which will focus on adult education, social issues and community leadership and governance. A Girls Hostel and Empowerment Center has been recently completed from funding by our USA partner Global Orphan Prevention. This will focus on Women and Girls Health and Education and be an important part of the CLNF program. Other project components will focus on adult education, social issues and community leadership and governance.   The above photos show – 1) on the left a recent photo of the Girls Hostel and Empowerment Center which will provide accommodation and support for up to 33 girls, who previously lived too far away from the local school. It is these girls that are vulnerable to widespread trafficking. CLNF’s role is primarily aimed at setting up the operation of the Center and working with the girls and their families, the local community and school to achieve the objective of empowering families and girls themselves to avoid the trafficking pathway, and 2) on the right a photo of the main village also called Ghyangphedi which demonstrates the mountainous terrain endured by the community. The main school building is prominent on the right with an orange roof.
